The Corona Arch Trail starts on the Potash Road on the Colorado River west of Moab, Utah. The route to Corona Arch and back is about 5km, but there is some additional exploration past the arch and up to Pinto Arch. The signed trail crosses the train tracks then follows a short canyon route up to the Navajo sandstone slickrock. There are two cables installed to help hikers on the steep slopes, but overall the hike is an easy one, winding along a bench right to Corona Arch.
This is an out-and-back trail suitable for families or as the first of two hikes in the area, best done at times when there aren’t dozens of people on the route. It was our second time on this hike and we will return to do it again, next time exploring the areas above Pinto Arch.
