  1. The area at the end of Pratt road has some significant values. It is a large natural area inside the city boundaries and therefore is protected by the bylaw that prohibits motor vehicles. It is a beautiful natural area that is close enough to provide good exercise and recreation to many city dwellers on a frequent basis. It is well worth protecting but requires a lot of people showing they care and reporting vehicular damage to the bylaw office before they will do anything about it. Every year there are more quad and dirt bike trails and more erosion.

Within this area there is a special area of untouched old growth Douglas-fir bunchgrass ecotype that is too inaccessible to have been logged and too dry for cattle. It is a good example of original plant associations and is a very special area.
