Skoatl Point is a dark, barren volcanic core rising above the Bonaparte Plateau. It is in a remote forested area surrounded by many lakes frequented by anglers and hunters. Tsintsunko Lake Provincial Park is a 333 hectare park on the Bonaparte Plateau at an elevation of 1603 m (5260 feet). The B.C. Bonaparte Plateau is a high forested area north of Kamloops. Access is by backroads. Jamieson creek Forest Service Road is the best road to use from Kamloops. The Bonaparte Plateau is not an easy place to explore. The backroads to 5000 feet are long and not well marked. The trailheads are difficult to find.
