The Fisher Towers Trail is 34 km up the Colorado River from Moab, Utah. A dirt side road turns off Highway UT128 leads to a parking lot at the trailhead. The single track trail then winds up under a series of rock spires and ends at a viewpoint.
The route proceeds up sandstone ledges, ramps, and slickrock traverses above Onion Creek. There are many viewpoints along the way and a light bit of scrambling up and down is required, especially if you choose to explore a bit.
The view to the west looks across the Richardson Amphitheater and beyond to the Lost Springs Wilderness. Buttes and towers were visible on both sides of the river. The Fisher Towers Trail is 7 km (4.4 miles) round trip and as good a trail as we could hope for. A must do in the Moab area.
