There is some fine hiking terrain near Six Mile Hill in the hills above the TransCanada Highway to the west of Kamloops. An old road bears off to the left just past the Tobiano turn. The Brussels Hills are unnamed on maps, but they are a line of open forested rocky hills above Brussels Lake and Brussels Creek between Tobiano – the TransCanada Highway and the forested slopes of Mt. The Six Mile Hills are above Kamloops Lake on the south side of the Trans Canada Highway. The area near the lookout is now Six Mile Protected Area. We hiked from Six Mile Viewpoint down the ridges to a benchland and then through silt bluffs and hoodoos in a gully next to Tobiano, working our way up the east side. A story to follow.
